-Before- see the mullet starting? See his "toupee"? =D

-Before- These are really good "toupee" pictures

-Before-

~AFTER~ I actually had to wait till he stopped crying. He didn't love getting his haircut.

~AFTER~ Bye Bye mullet. Bye Bye Toupee.

~AFTER~ You can see my uneven clipper job. Moving targets are hard to clip.

~AFTER~Awe...no more strangers peering out of the corner of their eyes

~AFTER~Isn't he the cutest

~AFTER~TA DA! Look at me world!
You might wonder--"What?!?! A haircut this early? He is not even 6 months old!" Well, let us begin our story at my sister Debra's home. I went to pick him up one afternoon after she had been babysitting for me and she had a "parting thought" for me. Sara, I think you should cut Bryce's hair. She said in effect that I should cut the long hair to match the shorter, new growth, hair. She made the point that if I kept letting it grow his long hair would start to break off, not to mention the fact that he was already rubbing it off. So, by cutting it I could keep/save it and not lose it. She is good, but still didn't have me convinced. I'm so very sentimental and this was his NEW BORN HAIR! =( I couldn't part with it so early! So, I kept living (nothing too exciting there;-). However, I started to notice that he would get "looks" from strangers. Not those, oh-what-a-cute-little-baby looks. No, it was the what-in-the-world looks. I was sad. I didn't want my sweet baby getting "looks". Didn't they know that it wasn't an intentional mullet? Could they have possibly thought that he really had a toupee? Probably not, but now that I was self-conscious about my baby's conscious (is that possible? Because I experienced it) then I was starting to think twice about what my sister said. Then one day, when I went to pick him up after he woke up in the morning I saw it...HAIR! RED HAIR not on his head, but on the sheets! AHHHH!!!! It was happening. My sister was right. So... we cut it. THE END.
Exciting story, right? Yes it is, but also exciting is that I did get to keep his new born hair, it's in a little baggy, dated and stuff. However, cutting his hair was TRICKY. Try to get a 4 month old(at the time) to sit-up(which he wasn't even close to sitting up yet), hold still(impossible unless sleeping), and not spaz out when there are LOUD clippers near his head. Ha! So I had the idea to put him in the "saucer toy" so he'd be sitting-up. Put him in front of the mirror to help him hold still (that part didn't really work). And just talked and sang to him like everything was normal when the clippers were on and running over his cute little head. So, I didn't achieve a very clean cut, you can see that it is not well blended and what not. But, no blood, no tears=) Actually, that isn't true. No blood is true. But he got tired of it fast and started crying near the end =( Pobrecito (that was my favorite spanish word I learned in HS spanish) it means--Poor boy, but a fairly successful first haircut.
P.S. This posts-"Fun Find"-
Bryce has 3 Calics. Can you spot them? 2 are easy and the third is harder to see, but still there (maybe not very easy to find in these pictures)
